Cecilia Knapp is a writer, poet, performer and theatre maker. She’s shared work nationally an internationally. Her commissions have included the TATE and the BBC and she has been a guest curator at Cheltenham Literature Festival. She was recently nominated for the role of London’s Young Poet laureate. Cecilia has also delivered a TEDX talk at Warwick University. To date, Cecilia has written two pieces for theatre, Finding Home and Rear View. Both shows have toured the UK extensively. Audiences have described her work as ‘mesmerising’, ’totally gripping’ and ‘a little bit special’ (Lyn Gardner). She has also been described as an 'essential writer' and is celebrated for her ability to 'tackle incredibly uncomfortable subjects in an engaging and relaxing manner' (Scroobius Pip). She is currently writing her first novel and her debut poetry collection will be published in 2018 by Burning Eye Books. She also teaches creative writing and poetry workshops in schools, Universities and for communities.
