The Papered Parlour is a beautiful crafts venue in South London started up by artists Claire Heafford and Louise Hall in 2009.  In a short space of time they have built a loyal following of crafters, inspiring and teaching people to think like artists and create designed items including silverwork, block-printed wallpaper and t-shirts as well as dressmaking. The Papered Parlour has become a favourite, much-reviewed destination in the press and the highlight of the venue’s public craft events was their collaboration with the V&A Museum of Childhood in 2011 which drew record-breaking crowds of 1,800 people.

Claire was born in Cambridge in 1981, and she studied BA Fine Art Sculpture at Chelsea College of Art and MA Cultural Theory at Goldsmiths College. She has worked at national museums, galleries and theatres, pursuing her passion for audience development and creative programming. She has also exhibited her sculpture internationally and been published in a cultural theory journal.

Louise was born in Plymouth in 1981 and studied BA Hons Photography, Film and Imaging at Napier University before embarking on her career as a freelance photographer, assisting and leading shoots in various fields including fine art, fashion, theatre and film.   Most recently she has completed commissions for Punchdrunk, Soho Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her work is held in private collections including the Dorchester and Athenaeum Hotels.
