Julie Peakman is a writer and historian. She has an international reputation as an expert in the history of sexuality and of women’s history. She is Honorary Fellow at Birkbeck College, London and has been Honorary Fellow at the Wellcome Trust, UCL.  Julie has written for, among others, History Today and the BBC History Magazine, as well as taking part on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4, including Night Waves and Women’s Hour. She has broadcast in major television series on history both on the BBC, and independent channels such as Channel 4 and the Biography Channel.  She is the General Editor of A Culture of the History of Sexuality (Berg, 2010, 6 volumes) and of Sexual Perversions 1650-1890 (Palgrave 2009).  She is also author of Lascivious Bodies: A Sexual History of the 18th Century (Atlantic, 2004) and The Pleasure’s All Mine: A History of Perverse Sex (Reaktion 2013).
