Richard Ehrlich is a writer, journalist and broadcaster specialising in food and drink. He was a food columnist for the Guardian from 1989 to 2004, and drinks columnist for the Independent on Sunday from 1997 to 2006, where his work won him two Glenfiddich Awards, for Drinks Writer in 1998 and Bar Writer in 2003. He has also been Food Editor of Cosmopolitan and She magazines, regularly contributes articles on food and drink to the Financial Times and consumer and professional magazines.  He has served as Chairman of the Guild of Food Writers. 

In 2004 Grub Street published a collection of his weekly columns from the Guardian, The Perfect... Food Notes and Recipes; with Kyle Books he has published The Green Kitchen (2009), 80 Recipes for your Halogen Oven (2010), 80 Recipes for Your Breadmaker (2011) and 80 Recipes for Your Pressure Cooker (2011).
