Bill Jones is a freelance illustrator, writer, cartoonist and performer based in Gloucestershire, UK.

His cartoons have appeared in Private Eye and his first book, The Life and Times of Algernon Swift, an illustrated novel of puns, was published in 2017 by Head of Zeus. He has drawn illustrations for Faber Music, the Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World, and the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen among others.

He has a particular interest in crows, historical costume, nature, gardens and wordplay.

Bill also devises puzzle trails, performs a spoken word show “Growing Victorians in Your Garden”, and haunts poetry readings and stand-up gigs as the gloomy poet and compere Miserable Malcolm.
