S.W. Perry is the bestselling author of the acclaimed Jackdaw Mysteries, a six-book series set on Bankside in Elizabethan London featuring physician and reluctant spy Nicholas Shelby, as well as two standalone thrillers set in the 1930s. His debut novel, The Angel’s Mark and Cairo Gambit were both listed for the CWA Historical Dagger, and the former was named a Walter Scott Prize Academy Recommended Read. Corvus Books will publish Steve's new novel Raven’s River in 2027, which will be the first in a series of historical thrillers set in the dark underworld of nineteenth century London, focussing on Sergeant Jack Raven, and officer in the newly formed Thames River Police.

Steve’s previous career in journalism included working on LBC, Independent Radio News, and as head of news at a UK commercial radio station. He then retrained as a commercial pilot, eventually becoming a senior captain with a well-known UK holiday airline. He lives near Stratford-upon-Avon with his wife, Jane, and cocker spaniel Buffle.
