Robin Smith (1963–2025) was an iconic England cricketer of the 1990s. South African-born, he was part of the England squad that finished runners-up at the 1992 Cricket World Cup. Smith was widely celebrated for his skill against fast bowling, and for his crisp strokeplay – particularly his trademark square cut.

His candid autobiography The Judge: More Than Just a Game, co-written with Rob Smyth, was published in 2019 by Yellow Jersey Press. The Judge, Smith's nickname, saw him recall the highs of international cricket and bravely open up about some of his personal struggles.

Smith is remembered as a dependable and widely respected presence in England’s batting line-up, valued for his composure under pressure and steady authority at the crease. His life and career were aptly celebrated by friend and English cricket commentator Mark Nicholas in The Cricket Monthly.
