Tom Dixon is one of the world’s most innovative product designers, a self-styled “Maverick Industrialist” and design non-conformist. His enthusiasm for design encompasses many concepts and materials, from high-end, unique handcrafted originals, through to spearheading collectable, mass-produced objects for popular high street retail.
He has been creative director for Habitat and of Finnish company Artek, and since 2002 he has expanded internationally his eponymous design company.
Tom received an OBE in 2000. He edited the International Design Yearbook 2004, and has contributed to many other design and industry publications. He received critical acclaim for his radical book Rethink (1999), and The Interior World of Tom Dixon, on modern design (2008), both published by Conran Octopus. His monograph Dixonary was published by Viollette in 2013.
