Jess Lightfoot used to write stories on the bus to school, which gave her lots of practice but didn't get her invited to many parties. Now she writes in various cafes and libraries around Oxford, surrounded by stressed students and the ghosts of authors past. Her hobbies include wandering through graveyards, baking eccentrically flavoured scones, and staring wistfully into the middle distance.
