Nilopar Uddin was born in Shropshire to Bangladeshi parents, and has worked as a senior finance lawyer practising in both London and New York. She has also lived in Dhaka where she volunteered for BRAC, one of the largest NGOs in the world.

Nilopar has an MA in Creative Writing from City University. Her short stories have been published in anthologies, and shortlisted for the Asian Writer Prize. She lives in London with her husband and two daughters. Her debut novel, The Halfways, was published by HQ in 2022.
